I have acquired a unique set of skills ( no- I’m not not Liam Neeson in Taken)
As well as being a speaking coach, I'm a trained writer ,actress and voice over artist and have spent years developing the mindset and resilience to cope with rejection, and learning how to communicate my authentic self in high pressure situations.
I moved to London from Belfast in 2010 to follow my dreams of training as a professional actress- and studied a BA Acting at one of the UK’s top drama schools.
Theatre training was tough and pushed me out of my comfort zone. I developed my skills in voice, movement and presence, as well as dealing with criticism and judgement.
Once I began auditioning and working in the real world- I really learnt that mindset, communication, confidence and presence are just as important as talent itself. I thought I had to be louder, more brash, and pretty much not myself to try and be liked and get a part- which resulted in the opposite!
Being a creative often means juggling other jobs- I have years of experience in the corporate world -particularly Financial Services- in Sales, Business Development and event planning, networking, dispute resolution and public speaking coaching- all whilst pursuing writing and acting opportunities.
A bit more about me…
There have been days when I have literally left work in the office- hopped on the tube and performed as a lead in a West End play that evening!
My years working as an actor and writer and in the corporate world have allowed me to develop the mindset and resilience to cope with rejection, and learning how to communicate my authentic self in high pressure situations. Now I love helping other people do the same!
It doesn’t matter what industry you work in- fears around Speaking and Communication can crop up everywhere. My vast experience allows me to relate to a wide range of people.
